I am a 41 year old mother of one beautiful 12 year old tween girl - she is my little shopping mate! recently engaged - to be married to the love of my life in June of 2011. the majority of my life - i have been a size 7/8 - after i had litl miss in 1998 jumped to a 9-10 then a year after gained 25lbs - lost 30 and was back to a 8. then gradually gained 30+- lost 5 here and there but nothing consistant - have always been active - but actively drinking wine as well :) - pretty health conscience when it comes to nutrition - but need to watch my portion sizes. recently lost 34lbs - and have maintained it thus far - fluctuating up or down 2/10ths of a lb- currently at a size 10-12 - would like to lose about 15 more lbs and get back to a 8 - i go to the gym atleast 4-5 x a week - love the treadmill, eliptical, stair climber and weight training. I think the key to maintaing/losing weight is to eat smart, read labels, watch sodium, no artificial sweetners, no high frutose corn syrup, and watch expiration dates - if it expires 3 years from now - i will not be putting that in my body. I did not get on a scale for 3+ years - because i did not want to see the ugly truth - i now get on the scale each morning - if i gain anything beyond 2 lbs - i need to really watch what i am eating - the bottom line is that it is easier to lose 2 lbs then to lose 30. i have heard the word "skinny" so much in the past two weeks and I cannot tell you what a self esteem booster it has been for me. One last thing to successful weight loss - one word "water"!
