I've struggled with weight since age 12 (after "Oreo & Ice Cream Summer" as I call it). I've successfully lost 50lbs in the past, only to see it return two-fold. I'm ready to try again...hopefully a supportive community like this can be the difference between success and failure.

Question about serving sizes?
That's exactly what I do! Get the total calories and then divide by however may servings to get calories per serving.

Clueless...help me understand I am new to this...
sorry about that... ist sentence should read - Red means you took in more calories than you burned. Green means you burned more calories than you took in.

Red means you took in more calories than you burned. Green means you It depends on your weight loss goals. 3500 calorie deficit = 1 lb of weight lost. So, for example, if you want to lose 1 lb per week your weekly deficit should be 3500 calories, or 500 calories per day. So you need to burn 500 more calories a day than you take in. If you want to lose more (or less) weight per week, adjust accordingly. 1 - 2 lbs per week is a nice range.
