Just reread all my journal entries from the past. Goodness - amazing how the printed word can bring back so many memories. I went for a quick run today, only 30 minutes. I need to do a medium-length run tomorrow or Saturday, in the 7-8 mile range, and then seriously tapper for the half-marathon next weekend. I also need to decide what race to sign up for next - which will keep me running, which helps keep me healthy. I couldn't sleep last night - mind whirling over a bunch of issues, the least of which is finding the next run and making it work in both schedule and budget.

My granddaughter has been taking tennis lessons this summer and yesterday she did so well that the couch challenged her to an impossible bet: if she could stand at the net and hit the next ball he sent her way, all the children would be excused from cleaning the courts. She stood at the net and he hit that ball as high as he could. It came down two courts away...and she did it! As yesterday was national cheesecake day I bought her lunch as a reward and got her a piece of vanilla bean cheesecake. I did eat two bites of her leftover chicken wrap as part of my dinner but I did NOT eat any cheesecake. I admit it, I'm bragging a bit, cuz that box was hard to ignore in the fridge. Tomorrow I am going to weigh in. I really wanted to hit the 130s by Aug 1st...I should be close, but I realize that might have been a tad aggressive. I am wearing my old clothes, I feel good, so I am happy with progress no matter if the scale doesn't reflect it! Super thanks to all the FS faithful who support each other and motivate by example. Happy July 31st....

Planned my Tuesday with the knowledge that I was taking the day off from exercise so that Wednesday I could have one more long run before tapering for the half marathon. And my daughter and 9-year old granddaughter were singing Tuesday night and I was going to enjoy a glass of wine at their show, so saved a few calories for that treat. Right before the show I was asked if I could watch granddaughter on Wed....so there goes plans for long run. I will be able to get in a 5 mile run which is far shorter than I planned. Because of the change in plans I did not have wine Tuesday night...which meant I had a gr8 weigh in today. A good weigh in and a special day with Ava...who cares about a long run!!!!
Hotchick2 came to the show. And did great. No bar food, and just water to drink. Cartinarl came and ate a salad and no alcohol. Whohoo....so proud of these ladies!!!!!!!

Did not have a lot of time to exercise today, so I ramped up the intensity. Ran 1.5 miles as fast as I could, then ran up the set of 75 stairs 10 times, then headed back home. About 40 or 45 minutes. Not my favorite workout but at least it is done for today.

Although I stopped using Weight Watchers years ago, I was scared to change the listed diet within MFS. Reading the FAQs mentioned that I would be "starting over". I didn't want to lose my weight history. There is some great motivation in knowing I've done this, successfully, before. I just noticed that Catrinarl changed her diet, and while there is a "starting over" break point in the history, it didn't erase the past history. (So, thanks, Cat, for teaching Mom another thing or two!)
