Calorie Counter App ALWAYS ON!!! How do I stop it from ALWAYS running? Droid X
I LOVE Calorie Counter! This is a great app that is instrumental in losing weight. No longer can I claim ignorance!!! However, I do have a problem.
I have a Droid X. More and more apps are now running continuously in the background - slowing my phone down. Unlike a computer, this is difficult to control. While Verizon is HORRENDOUS with bloatware, I get very upset when an app I install does the same. Recently Calorie Counter did an update that now keeps it running in the background. WHY?????
In the news, people are starting to become aware of privacy concerns. I do not mind Calorie Counter turning on every few days too look for an update, that's fine. However, there is NO reason to run in the background ALL THE TIME!!! I unchecked the automatic update and it still remains on. If this were not such a great app, I'd delete it. I've already deleted several that did the same.
Can either tech support or the community explain WHY Calorie Counter is running on hundreds of thousands of smart phones RIGHT NOW without people knowing or even logged in? What is the purpose of this? To me, it sounds like a very strong privacy breech.
Anyone's thoughts on this?
