Middle of Day 6 on the Master Cleanse

This journey has been most enlightening, but I will not make it to Day 10 for several reasons.

1) I haven't been taking in enough calories. One would think at my age "simple" conversions and arithmetic like how many glasses of this mixture do I need to take in 1100 calories when one glass has about 110. Maybe I just calculated using the wrong thing. Anyway. My rapid weight loss of about 10lbs in 6-7days is too fast for any semblance of healthiness. There isn't any muscle to chew up that fat!
2) My cravings for junk food and "sugars that inevitably turn to fat" has gone away (or better yet decreased significantly). I don't need those nutty butty bars, or those McD's french fries. I can really just smell it and be fine.
3) I really, really, really want to eat a salad. I want lettuce and spinach and sliced almonds and olives and pickles and avocados.

So my plan is to break this fast with vegetable and fruit juices for about 2-3 days and then to eat "normally".

At the end of today: Reboot Complete!

End of Day 5 on the Master Cleanse

Today was filled with ups and downs. I walked/jogged by Popeye's again today. I enjoyed the smell but didn't crave their spicy chicken and addicting red beans and rice. I went to Chili's with a friend and watched her eat this turkey avocado sandwich that looked delectable. I'm damned lucky she didn't order the fries. Hung out at another friend who really wanted to feed me... And she can cook! But I resisted.

I did my walk of 45 min and my crunches according to my challenges. There were times when I said I was hungry... But I don't really think I was. I was just hunkering for some stuffed crust pizza.

Energy level is still pretty high. I've been up since 8am and running on about 6hrs of sleep... I'm not tired either. 5 more days to go. I can't wait till Day 11.

End of Day 4 on the Master Cleanse

My energy level is gone off the charts. I've been going to bed at midnight or 1 am and waking up at 7 or 8 am. On my own. Without an alarm clock. Without sunlight streaming in and beaming on my eyelids.

Today I think was pretty hard. Even now I want a cracker... A processed buttery original townhouse cracker. *sigh* I've got a little bit of a headache...

I ran today. 2.1mi in 19min45secs! Improvements. I originally planned to walk, but I felt like running. Telling myself I'm only going to walk and expecting myself only to walk really helps with getting myself out in the first place. That way I can exceed my expectations. :)

6 more days to go. I'm longing for a salad. Spinach with chicken, red onions, strawberries, orange slices, almonds with a balsamic vinaigrette.

Soon.

End of Day 3 on Master Cleanse and Revelations

Holy Wow! The *day* was perfectly fine. The evening/night was a different story. The smell of barbequed hot dogs and french fries drowned in ketchup assaulted my senses. The fruit in the grocery sang siren-like songs as I ran to pick up more supplies to continue the cleanse. I made it though. I made it.

This cleansing time has also allowed me to suggest to myself that I was previously putting my body through some semblance of starvation mode (maybe not that drastic). The thing is, I'm not hungry. And normally, if I'm not hungry, I don't eat. But I've been doing that for so long that my body just gets used to not having enough food. I frequently would only eat twice a day without snacking, not having my first meal until 11am or even 1pm. When I'm back on solid foods, I think my new goal will be to ensure that I eat breakfast every day. I mean... even if it's a glass of juice or a smoothie or ... something. I've got to bring my metabolism back "normal" working levels.
