I'm 38 years old, and in the recent years I've gained weight that I'd like to lose. I've been depressed - emotional eating is a thing and the meds don't help either - and I work from home, in front of my PC, so I don't move too much during the day. I also moved to a different country and it took time to meet new people and start going out and being active.
I haven't gained very much - 5-7 kg to lose - but with my small frame this amount really shows and I want to feel like myself again.
My diet of choice, after trying different methods in the past, is intermittent fasting 5:2. I think this should work - I should be able to pull off 2 very restricted days per week as long as I don't have to worry on other days and I can sometimes eat something sweet. For the beginning, I'm going to record all the food I eat to learn how to compose my meals not to exceed 2000 kCal on unrestricted days.
I also really need to work on my fitness level. I have exercise induced asthma and without regular exercise it gets worse. I got so bad that I needed high doses of oral steroids to function normally again, so my goal is start working out 3-4 times a week, with particular focus on cardio. I'm lucky that my gym offers many different types of classes for members, so I can just mix different type of exercises to improve my performance, stamina and also tone my body to look better.
