I'm a 62 year old chiropractor, married for 34 years and the proud father of tree sons. My passion is nutrition and health. I personally lost over 50 pounds 2 and a half years ago. Have kept most of that weigh off, but now want to get down to my ideal weigh of 200lbs. Sking, cycling, hiking, and scuba diving are my favorite hobbies. My goal is to once again compete in the White Mountain Grand Fondo in August. Last year I place 2nd in my age group and 19 over in the 55mile event, but this year I want to finish the 100+ mile event.

Is 600 cals a day enough?
He is correct. Eating 5-6 small meals per day with total daily caloric intake at about 1200 cal keeps your insulin levels relatively constant and prevents the urge to binge eat. If you do this and keep your carb intake to approximately 15 grams/meal you should lose 2-3 lbs/week.
