BMR Calculations - Caloric Deficit
Hello All,
I'm looking for some feedback and some guidance with understanding stand my BMR etc..
My Stats are:
Weight - 276
Height - 5'7
Age - 38
Sex - Male
Given those stats I have a BMR ~2100.
Based on what I have read and heard those are the calories I require to get through the day without any exercise. So as we all know the proper weigh to lose weight is to create a caloric deficit and increase the calories burned. With that said, in theory if I do no exercise all I need to do is create a caloric deficit using ~2100 as the baseline. So if I were to create a caloric deficit of 30% I would be eating ~1500 calories a day and in theory would loss weight. Do I have that correct?
Obviously I will be exercising so based on Light Activity level given my BMR that would take me to a required caloric intake of ~2900 calories per day. So do I create a caloric deficit based on ~2900? Again using 30% as the magic number that would take me to ~2030 calories per day? My question to everyone is do I have this right or am I missing something?
Your feedback and input would be appreciated.

Frustrated but still staying on track
I weighed in this morning and is only down about 1.5lbs which I'm not totally pleased with but it is in the right direction. Keep up the faith!!

I just stumbled on this site and BlackBerry application and I love it.
My goal is to lose as much weight as I can by July 1,2011 as that is my wedding day. I want to be healthy and look hot for my wife to be. Smile
I also started to blog my journey so feel free to stop by and check out my thoughts.
