I’m 58, single and living alone (plus 2 boxer dogs) for the first time in my life. It is equal parts empowering and terrifying. I have 3 sons and 2 step sons. All are grown and living their own lives. I bought a fixer upper a year and a half ago. I love the the sense of accomplishment I get each time I master a new task or finish a project. Since being on my own I have learned how to remove popcorn from ceilings, repair my own dishwasher, repair scratches in my cars paint, remove a dent in a molded plastic bumper. Replace outlets and light fixtures, refinish a deck, back up with a trailer, miter molding, build a closet shelf,, etc. I’m currently refinishing my kitchen cupboards and building coat rack bench in the utility room. I can find a tutorial for almost anything on the Internet.

I live in a mountain town in Colorado with plenty of access to outdoor recreational opportunities. I enjoy hiking and leisurely walks with my dogs. I am a new runner starting just last year. I am determined to make it a life long hobbie going forward. I bought snowshoes this fall thinking I would take that up as well but it’s been freakishly warm and dry so far this winter. They are still in the package. I am exploring yoga.

I’m a life long learner and avid reader. My favorite app is Overdrive. I can spend hours on the internet researching and reading. I like to listen to podcasts and audio books while I work on projects in my house.

I’m 5’3” tall and my highest recorded weight was 192. I say recorded because I have a habit of sticking my head in the sand to ignore what I don’t want to face. I began to face my eating problems and my relationship problems about 5 years ago. It has been a long journey with lots of ups and downs and back and forth, but I continue to move forward one day at a time.

Looking for LOW sugar and LOW Carb snacks
I love ice cream. Ice cream does not love me! I discovered frozen blue berries last summer. They are low in calories and carbs and full of fiber and antioxidants, But sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Also They don’t knock me out of ketosis. I eat them frozen and with chopsticks 🥢 to slow the process down and prevent blue fingertips.

I fell off the wagon in July and didn’t get back on until January. It was an emotional event that blindsided me and Triggered a spiral into negative self talk and depression. It’s insidious. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to break the cycle. I don’t know the answer but have some ideas. It sounds like you know exactly what to do to lose weight and live a healthier life style. Your accomplishments speak for themselves.! I always feel better when I accomplish something. Maybe set a couple of challenges that have nothing to do with weight loss but something you have an interest in like getting a diving certification. or you might try joining a sport team where you can get exercise and social interaction in a non-stressful environment like a running club or a recreational basketball team or volleyball team. I always feel good when I accomplish something I didn’t think I could.
