I am 44-yrs-old. I'm a stay-at-home mom who babysits 2-3 kids daily. I am also working on my medical transcription degree and should be finished in 2 months. I live in St. Louis and have a great hubby, home and life. I promised a friend I'd do a half-marathon with her in October. I started a 3K running program last week. In 2 months I'll start a 5K program, then a 10K, then finally the 21K. I hope to be able to run the whole thing, but would be happy to just finish. I started ice skating lessons with my 5-yr-old recently. After falling pretty hard on Saturday, I am totally questioning my desire to learn to skate at 44!!!

"Saving" part of a smoothie for later
Has anyone done this yet? I made one of the smoothie recipes and had half left over. I put it in the fridge for a day. The next day I was going to drink it, but it looked so gross and unappetizing.Confused Should I put it in the freezer instead? The next smoothie I made, I tried to cut in half so it only made one serving. That came out okay. I've also found some of the recipes make only one serving, but they are the ones with light ice cream as an ingredient, so they have a few more calories than the other ones. This is all based on the recipes in the Abs Diet for Women book.

any one else doing the "abs diet for women"?
Thanks, MeowKatMom.Smile I'm still concerned that left to my own devices, I may even over-eat the power foods. What if I finish a bowl of Raisin Bran, but I don't feel hungy and I want another bowl? Isn't it okay, since it's considered a power food? But, then I've just eaten 2 bowls of cereal, which doesn't seem to lend itself to helping me lose weight. I've read so many success stories of people losing so much weight on this diet. I guess it'll be a trial and error thing and like you said, I should't look for a quick fix. I've never lost the baby weight from my 2 1/2 year old....I think it's cuz I'm 42 and it's just harder to lose weight now that I'm ancient. I haven't incorporated any exercising into my life yet. I want to say that it's so hard to schedule it in my life (said in a whiney voice) but I know other moms with even more kids have done it (HOW??!!). Confused

I'd like to join you guys! I ordered the book on Amazon and it has not arrived. I've googled a lot on it and have tried to "start" several timesWink
I just don't know how well I'll do with not counting anything, like carbs or calories. How on earth will I lose weight being responsible for my own portion control? How is everyone doing with that?
