I am female, 64, married. I've been dieting on and off since I was 20. Last year I read "why we get fat and what to do about it" by Gary Taubes. This had quite an impact on me and I started a low-carb diet. I went from 140+ to where I am now. Right this minute I am reading "Perfect Health Diet" which adds some "safe starch" to the low-carb approach. I have arthritis in my hips and I am hoping that weight loss and healthy eating will help. I need to start doing some sort of resistance exercises to build my muscle. That's my next step.
