I am 60 years old and will be retiring in 2011, I have been married for 26 years, have a 24 year old daughter who is getting married next summer and it is time to turn things around.I have struggled with my weight all of my life. My weight topped out at 292, scared me that I was so close to 300lbs, at 5 foot 4 inches I am almost as round as I am tall. Even though I have been over weight I have over all been pretty healthy. Then over the last several years I have started to have many health issues related to my weight and age, high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, arthritis, trouble getting from point A to point B. I have tried many times to loose weight but always gain every thing back plus more. How I am at a point where it is now or never. I know what I need to do I just the support and motavation to get there. I am going to start out with mini steps, first recording everything I eat daily. 2nd starting an exercise program. So far this site seems to be very easy to use and has lot of supportive people so I think that it will really help me to stay on track.

hello all....I need your help!
Hi another new member here, I can so relate to your story Granny, I turned 60 and seems everything fell apart. Weight has always been an issue but has never slowed me down until the last couple of years. Now everything is going south. Next summer my daughter is getting married and in 2 years I plan to retire. I am facing the fact that it is now time to loose this weight. I too need support and encouragement. I know what I need to do, I plan on starting slow, this week I have recorded everything I have ate, boy when you have to write it down you sure think about putting it in your mouth. I agree with dotbert take it one day at a time and don't beat yourself up if you fall off the wagon.
