What keeps you motivated?
I seem to be having a hard time staying motivated. I've been at this point in my diet before about three years ago and sabotaged myself out of it, gained all my weight back and felt like crap for the next couple years. My friends are no help either, I am on my own with this. I started again back in November but have been trying to keep it casual so I don't get burned out. I guess it's hard to keep the focus when the goal seems so far away sometimes. I try to tell myself I'm doing this for me, to be healthier and all that good stuff. But in reality I'm just tired of being the fat guy.

What are you using for motivation?

I think it would really depend on what the price is for the phone. If I was to spend money on an android based device that only had the fatsecret app on it and nothing els I would probably pay $50.00 for it. Considering Android phones do so much more, I would go to $100.00. They practically give them away now on contract.
But hey I paid $150.00 to upgrade to my droidx when I got it a 18 months ago.

Is the app worth getting a new android phone?
Well if you would like the convenience of being able to add any food any time no matter where you are, have the ability to scan barcodes off packages ( the best part ) have a resource to manage and track exercise and weight. It's really a great thing to have and works seamlessly with the website.

Oh not to forget its a tiny computer for your pocket for many other needs you may have, plus you can make calls with it too Laughing

Yea, pasta and white bread are starch, turns into glucose in the body.

You should try to get away from any white bread completely and get wheat or whole grain or oat while on a active diet.
Pasta is not an easy one, I think that the wheat pasta is terrible and won't eat it, I will however restrict my regular pasta intake to a minimum.

Consistancy is the key, keep at it, you will make it.

Protein shakes/drinks
Optimum Nutrition Whey. I doublt you will find any better. I have the vanilla ice cream and double rich chocolate on hand. Both are very good, vanilla one is good for mixing frozen fruit. Chocolate is good by itself. Strawberry is ok, I mix them all with nonfat milk and ice or frozen fruit.
Amazon has good deals and if you subscribe and save its even cheaper.
