Shortly after college when I got married and started a desk job I learned that I was not naturally skinny. The inactivity and different unhealthy eating patterns had set in and put on about 50 lbs. I realized that if I wanted to stay thin that I needed to be active and watch what I eat. I was able to loose all the weight and maintain a healthy weight for a couple of years. I gained about 45 lbs back during my first pregnancy but was dedicated to getting that back off by diet and exercise so I could be down to my pre-pregnancy weight by the time we were ready to try for baby #2 (about 10 months later).
However after my second child was born and I declared again that I was going to loose all of the babyweight, I decided that I didn't just want to be thin; I wanted to be fit. I've lost all of the baby weight, but I'm continuing on to develop the body that I've always wanted. Healthy, toned, feminine muscles. I want to be a positive influence on my children and the world around me and show that it's not just about being thin, but about being healthy. Being conscious about what we put in our bodies and how are bodies work and the best ways we can take care of them.
The problem: I still have two babies, a husband who hasn't yet jumped totally on board with the health stuff and still likes his big dinners every once and a while, and a terrible sweet tooth. There are so many days that I'm just too tired to want to work out or I'd so much rather just order pizza that cook a good, healthy dinner.
However, I do plan to stick with getting healthier and more fit. I'm very excited about this website because it gives me the motivation and accountability for everything I eat and do. I am, though, also going to realize that I still have to please my family and if they want pizza, then one night every once in a while won't kill me.
