I am a mother of 2 grown children. My daughter just celebrated her 1 year wedding anniversary and is a Social Worker in California. My son is in college getting his degree in Human Resources. I was remarried on 2007 and just celebrated my 3 year anniversary with my wonderful husband!

I was always a skinny kid and adult until I reached my 30's. Then it seems like I've been yoyo dieting ever since. I was on Atkins years ago and it worked but then little by little I started adding carbs back in and all my cravings returned and I gained all my weight back, plus some. I am determined to do it this time and stick to it! I feel I am very carb sensitive so I really need to be careful. I get very bloated and sluggish when I eat them and as soon as I start with something sweet, even if it's low carb I start craving again. So I am really going to try and stay away from those types of food this time around.

I am a registered nurse and I do private duty nursing with disabled children. I love this job. I worked in a hospital for 26 years and it's very stressful so this is a nice change of pace. Low key, no stress but can get very boring at times so eating becomes a problem. Sometimes to stay awake I feel like I need to eat something. This will be one of my big challenges.

Even though I don't have a tremendous amount of weight to lose it's still a struggle. I know I feel 100 percent better when I eat low carb so I hope that is enough motivation for me to stick with it this time around!

Constipation during Induction... ugh!!
I take Miralax every day. It's a powder you mix in any beverage. No taste, no calories, no carbs. It's expensive (I buy the store brand at Sams Club) but well worth it. I always had a constipation problem but this way of eating makes it so much worse. Is keeps me regular and if it works too good then I just skip a dose for a couple of days. Hope this helps.

Do you / Would you take your kids into a liquor store?
You said yourself that you bought wine on the way to a party. Maybe she was on her way to a get together and was the one asked to stop and pick up drinks

Leg Cramps
I also heard that thing about the soap before. I get leg cramps all the time so maybe I'll try that. Forgot all about it until I just read mummydee's post. (thanks!). I take a supplement that is just calcium, magnesium & potassium all in one. I get it at Sam's Club. Plus my regular vitams too.

Does anyone else just not like exercise?
I don't like exercising. I do have a personal trainer twice a week and I keep her because if I don't I won't go to the gym at all! I feel like I have to go because we have an appointment. I've been with her since March and I thought by now I'd get used to it or even enjoy it, but it's getting harder and harder to go. It takes everything I have to get there and I don't understand why. I have every bit of exercise equipment at home also and I buy it with such motivation then lose it very quickly. I don't get that endorphin rush people talk about. I too had the idea to exercise while watching movies or TV but the equipment is so loud you can't hear the tv, so that took care of that. I do like to walk. Even though that's not the best exercise (because I don't walk at a very fast pace) I feel it's better than nothing!

Atkins stall/gain
I'm exactly how you are right now. This is my week 3 and I lost 8 lbs the first 2 weeks and gained this past week. It's so frustrating. I weighed myself today just too see how things were going and was up 2 lbs. I know weight fluctuates daily so I'm trying not to let it get to me. And I do tend to hold a lot of water. I know this plan works. I did it before. I'm determined to stick with it this time. I really want to lose the weight but if it takes a lot longer this time I will have to try and be patient. I feel 100 percent better!! And that's a huge plus. So don't give up, I won't either. We can do this!!!!
