Obese to Ironman!
Disclaimer: this is a brag post. Hopefully it will inspire some others in the process.

In January 2010 I made a New Year's resolution to loose some weight. That is how it started just using this website to track my calories in and out I weighed 235lbs and would get winded walking up one flight of stairs. Over time as I reached my weight goal my goals started to change.

Today I can call myself an Ironman, I recently finished Ironman Lake Placid. Back in January 2010 I'm not sure I knew what an Ironman was.

For all those people out there who think their goals are too hard or difficult to reach you will get there with a bit of determination! Good luck to you all, there is nothing you can't do with some time and effort.

Half Marathon in 2 weeks
Without knowing your workout history up to this point I can't give you the best advice. But what I can say is you can't really gain any significant run fitness in two weeks. Trying to run too much right now would be a bad idea as you will be tired for the race. This week you can go back to normal running, but next week should be a reduction. Just take it easy on race day and it doesn't take much time off to just walk the aid stations. Gives you a little break and lets you drink without spilling all over yourself. Good Luck.

not losing weight
With a quick look I would say eating too little. Your body may slip into starvation mode. All previous suggestions are great, but aim for an average of 500-1000 calorie deficit daily. This will hopefully lead to 1-2lbs/week of weight loss. Slow and steady wins the race. O and maybe not try all the suggestions at the same time, while good, may be too much of change to actually sustain. Good luck!

bmi
While BMI is a good starting point don't get too focused on that number. It is used for large population averages and is not good for individual assessment. I like to compare my measurements to see and compare improvement. Either way, good luck achieving your goals.

Have my reflective vest and ankle straps waiting for it to cool down to fit in my 11 mile run
