I am a mother of 2 teen age hansome boys. I used to be very active and was involved in sports like Softball, Basketball, Voleyball and Soccer. I used to ride my bicycle for fun with my friends but still used to get a decent amount of miles on it but never thought about it like a sport. Because I wasn't able to join any sport team when I moved to USA 13 years ago and due to my responsabilities as a single mom I just stopped doing exercise. Now I found in Cycling a good way not only to have fun but to do some serious exercise. I lost 35 lbs in 2012 by combining eating better and going to the gym a couple of days a week and riding my bike to work every day the whole summer of that year. I was able to maintain in 2013 due to cycling, I joined the Indianapolis Beginners cycling group and trained with them 3 times a week this year and on my own 2 times a week.In other words I rode my bike everyday If I could for 1 1/2 hours or more. But because I was doing it on a daily basis I havent been paying attention to my diet and just eating wathever. Now I want to be more competitive with my cycling and I need to be at my ideal weight in order to perform at my best. So I need to lose 30 lbs and that is my goal for the next winter months. I wanna reach my goal before Spring of 2014.

Starting with a plateau?
Wow...good advice!..almost exactly what I am doing (sometimes I fell for the sweets though. I eat out maybe once a month at the most and thats just because of my boys wanna go to the movies or something like that. I can't remember when was the last time I bought a soda for me or my kids...I stopped throwing that in the grocery cart about 3 years ago. It is hard when you have kids not to buy them some sweets and junk ..but I have learn that because they don't gain any weight and have a good and fast metabolism does not mean they are 100% healthy, even so if they keep eating junk they can get sick later. Now I am more responsable and do my groceries on the healthy side even for them. They eat more veggies and drink more water now. I stopped buying the kids stuff (snacks, chips, cookies, donuts, etc etc)and they just eat those on special ocations like a party or something or maybe at school but not at home. I am trying to feed everyone in the home with healthy choices. If you dont have junk food at home you wont be able to eat it right?...
