I am 59 years old, married with 2 adult children and 2 beautiful grandchildren. Husband and I retired together and decided it was time to lose weight, get in shape to live out our retirement years in the healthiest way possible.

I've spent the last year and a half losing 83 lbs and need to lose about 30 more. I started on Atkins and transitioned to ketogenic Low Carb High Fat way of eating, probably for life. I feel better and it has changed my life. I do not eat processed foods, breads, rice, pastas, corn, potatoes or any starches. Many benefits for me not eating gluten. I have learned a lot about this diet, my body, and what works for me.

Reached my biggest challenge in weighing under 200 lbs for the first time in almost 20 years. I've come this far so there is no reason I can't keep on losing. Just have to acknowledge that weight loss slows way down the less you have to lose, especially if you've been at it quite awhile!

Update: I have gained 4 lbs since last spring 2014, so now back to tracking and sticking to basics of Atkins induction. Carbs creep back in so easily even if you think you are sticking to LCHF. Too many keto treats add up !

Update 08/04/15: I lost the extra 4 lbs and then some, total of 88 lbs. Had to lower my calories, protein and doing IF. Those tweaks made the difference.

Weight Loss
I was stalled for 4 months and for lent I gave up diet soda, my occasional vodka, and cream cheese. It worked. Not sure which one(s) was the culprit, but in the previous year I lost 75 lbs until the long stall. The less you have to lose, the harder it gets so you have to tweak. These items are often mentioned for stalls on low carb diets. I gave up wine in the beginning because it doesn't fit with low carb. Too many sugars. Vodka with diet soda occasionally didn't seem to stall me for that first year, but I think it is a problem now.

1300 calorie diet, daily exercise and no weight loss
Carbs DO matter and particularly the source if you are on a low carb diet. I looked at your food and you are a eating too much protein but not enough fat for a low carb type diet. And try to avoid the Atkins products, they are processed. Eat more whole, real food, stay away from all sugar, starches, and eat under 20 g of carbs for a few weeks (green veggies, a few nuts). Include some avocado. Some people can't eat too much cheese or they gain weight. Once you start losing you can adjust your carbs and see if you continue to lose. I personally can't eat more than 20 g per day ever or I gain. Some can eat more and still lose.

Also 2 weeks is not long enough. Some people lose right away, others take longer. If you are still hungry with your amount of calories, you need to up it a bit, but eat more fat, not protein. It helps to keep you feeling full and satisfied. I think maybe your calories are a bit low as well. Don't give up, you just need to tweak a bit to see what works for you. The older we are the harder it is! It was so easy to lose weight back in our twenties, thirties, forties...but you can do it!

Help please
I changed my diet plan by clicking on "DIETS" in the upper green toolbar, then finding the diet you want. Click in that diet and there should be a box that asks you if you want to change to that diet.

Coffee Drinks as a Reward
I go to Starbucks and get a grande with the bold pick, add sugar free caramel or hazelnut syrup and have them leave room for cream (allowable on Atkins). I sometimes sprinkle some cinnamon on top, also I drink with a straw. It's not quite the same, but I find I don't need or crave real sugar anymore.
