I like your article. I'm doing Double-Edged Fat Loss (Dr. K' s program) and see some similarities between your's and his. I bit the bullet and gave up my gym membership since admitting to myself that I didn't need all that equipment to get in shape. All I needed was to follow a sound bodyweight program with intensity and variety. DEFL does that for me as would a variety of other training programs. At the gym, I was always tempted to just "do the machines". I do use some weights but with more emphasis on closed-chain exercises.

Adding Foods Question
I started using this website as a result of using the Calorie Counter program on my Android based phone. That program automatically keeps a list of most eaten and recently eaten foods and automatically syncs with the FatSecret website. It also is extremely convenient since I have the phone with me all of the time. Calorie Counter by FatSecret is also available on iPhone. For me this has made it extremely easy and convenient to use this website.
