Older women????
Natasha - great inspiration! Any advice on toning up under upper arms? I have a weak left arm so can't use weights etc., but I am swimming (breast stroke) and walking / running at least an hour every day.

Thanks, Mummydee - will look for Pink Sea Salt!

Didn't get very far on Dukan today as husband came in with chocolates and although I only had one, I had a WW biscuit as well .... Not bad calories- wise though, so another good day in preparation for tomorrow!
Off for an overnight to a hotel, so will be having a day off diet ... but will try to get a couple of hours walking in Smile

Older women????
Hi all, still struggling on ... Lost another 1lb today, making 6lbs off in just over 6 weeks.
Feels all too slow and too hard but no other choice but to keep going.
Been re-thinking my diet to shift weight quicker - and started on DUKAN today. It worked wonders for me before, so maybe cutting out carbs will help.
One big problem I have is SALT! I know it's bad for me and I have tried to cut it out completely, but I find certain foods tasteless without it. I take Lowsalt, and only use it once a day.
I do try to substitute spices and pepper etc for salt, but not the same.
I'm also cutting out ALCOHOL - usually have a gin and tonic at night - to speed up weight loss.
I'm exercising at least an hour a day, but can't lose more than 1lb a week.
Anybody got any ideas to speed things up???

Thanks for all the kind welcomes!
Monday morning and trying to gear up to get on treadmill and then drive into the leisure centre for a swim.
Can't decide whether to weigh in or not today ... If I've lost weight when I've been trying very hard - it's a great motivator, but if I'm the same (or put on a pound or two for no reason) on I get so frustrated that I often eat something I've been denying myself... It all feels so slow ....!
Just wondering where most of the members are based? I'm in Ireland, although I'm actually Scottish. I've been living here 22 years. Find it difficult to get to Weight Watchers etc., as I live a drive from the nearest class, but I'm quite happy with the regime I've worked out at the moment which is a mix of 5:2, low carb and low fat.
But the thing that has made the main difference is exercise. Can't lose without walking, swimming or dancing around the house! Saw some of the other women on the forum dance as well which made me feel I'm not the only one dancing on their own!!
I'd love company at home to motivate me more and go for walks, but there's no one nearby to walk with apart from my husband at weekends.

Thanks, Laurie! I've been using Fatsecret for a couple of years, but not used the forums. Will check in as regularly as I can.
The only way I can lose weight is to walk and swim regularly. If I don't exercise,it doesn't budge!
I've retired early from teaching a couple of years ago, and I'm also a writer which means I'm sitting at a computer a lot of the time. I have to really make myself get out and move or weeks will go by with no weight loss.
Having said that, I do feel great getting back into clothes I haven't worn for a long time, so hopefully that will keep me going until goal weight.
How are you doing?
