Losing but not around the waist
Go on treadmill as well as fast pace/run as much as possible daily for atleast Half an hour for one month. Do not over eat or consume sweets and you will shed the excess weight. After the first 30 days you should be able to do a ten minute jog without layovers. Just do that outdoors everyday to keep them back. Or longer if you want. All you have to do is actually make yourself do it.

Diabetics on losing weight?
Just like anyone else, diabetics may lose weight with making great food choices and exercise. In my experience although, the weight doesn't always seem fast as people without diabetic issues so try not to get frustrated. Make sure you check your BG number frequently and adjust your blood insulin to meet the food decrease and workout increase. Your control will most likely become better as you diet plan because you will be more strict regarding portion control so your carbohydrate counting will be more accurate. Best of luck!

5:2 Fast Diet
Sounds like a good healthy diet. It's based on just portion manage and balancing food groups. They are life-long concepts for health and should be be included even for non-dieters, but when attempting to lose weight this method seems easy to remember. Have fun with it, you'll have to tell me how good it works.

Carbs
If you are not trying to go on a reduced carb diet it doesn't matter, but you is deserving of about a third of your calories from carbs, which would end up being 100g of carbohydrates a day. If you are going for reduced carbs, keep under 30g a day, even as low as 15g a day.

I'm going to try this Atkins thing:)
Atkins works and it is a healthy way to lose some weight. Your blood pressure is going to be lower, your cholestrerol levels will be lower, and you'll maintain healthier fat.
Most people don't know exactly what Atkins really is. You have to go to the store and purchase the book "Dr. Atkins Brand new Diet Revolution". I have never discovered a critic however who has read the guide. Until you read the book, you do not know what Atkins is about.
