My name is Lisa. I am twenty five years old, and quite unfit, so I have two main reasons for wanting to manage my weight, the benefit for my physical appearance, and also to take some of the pressure from my joints. I have been experiencing a number of problems with my back and ankles which I am told result from hyper-mobility, which is a condition where the ligaments are naturally unstable. I have been doing daily Pilates for six months, paying for private sessions with a Pilates Instructor as well as seeing a chiropractor and have noticed some improvement but I clearly have a way to go with regard to building up core muscles, and strengthening my ankles.
My goal is to improve my weight, by cutting out the unnecessary snacking, so that I can drop from a size 14 back to a size 10, while focusing on Pilates and walking to build up my strength. From what I have been told, the strength training will probably be more important than my weight, but given my recent streak of injured ankles (three times in four months), exercise is currently tricky, so I have decided to focus on my diet, to have something positive to aim for in the meantime, while I recover from the latest sprain.
