performance: losing 1.2 lb a week
52-year old male. Spent the better part of my career traveling for work, eating poorly, and skipping exercise. I've had a couple periods in my life where I was fit and "healthy", now is not one of them. Exercise has taken a backseat to work, commute, and supporting my kids sports activities. I'm taking the time now to try and rectify some of that and get back to a healthy weight, and off BP meds. My goal is to hit 250lbs by mid June 2013, then 225 by mid June 2014. 245lbs is the lowest I've been in 20 years, with my average the past 10 years around 275.
I like cycling, and have started group spinning classes 3x week and weights 2x week. Keeping my calorie intake reasonable.
Currently unemployed so I have the time and discipline to get this started. The real challenge will come when I'm back at work with the same time constraints and stressors.
