I've been a yo yo most of my life when it comes to my weight. I usually have moderate to good success in losing weight with sound programs, but in the long run I have tended to revert back to my sad American diet (SAD) loaded with fast food and processed junk. I am now at the heaviest I have ever been in my life! I am a 46 year old wife, mother, and nana and do not intend on spending the rest of my life in this sad condition! I can't believe that my body is even capable of carrying this much weight! A friend recommended this diet to me since she has found good success with it. It seems to be nutritionally sound and was pretty much in line with what I have already been experimenting with. I have lost a few pounds before my official start date by just changing some basic ingredients from white to brown in flour, rice, breads, sugar.

I am a bit ambivalent about another "diet" but will give it a shot or try to customize what works for me. I can't lose anything but weight!

I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and this time of year, Fall, is my favorite. I am looking forward to being able to hike the nearby trails again without getting winded or fearing a heart attack!

I enjoy writing, photography, and crocheting. Well, on to the beginning of the rest of my life!

Blessings,
D

HERE I AM
Hi there and welcome! I am a wife, have two grown daughters, and two granddaughters and am 46 years old. I am fairly new to the site and have a long journey ahead of me also. I need to lose over 100 lbs. So I know the challenge you are facing. It's easier to take it one goal at a time and be diligent, but be kind to yourself and patient. I've had to learn that through many many attempts and am still learning it today. My perfectionism on trying to do everything in a program just right, can be a big downfall when I give up because I made a poor judgment. I've had to learn to just pick up where I left off and march on. The weight is coming off and I feel so much better already just knowing that I am taking action. Best wishes to you and congratulations on taking the first step!
