Worked out hard today with trainer, 3 planks for 1 minute...both side planks.. and normal plank..did all machines with raised weights exceptleg press..may have a slight fracture of metatarsal from over work with distance for races..walked a mile on treadmill..

going to do 6 miles tomorrow on the bridge ...

have some friends and family really going through some medical crises today so felt grateful I could work out hard ..also grateful to AA that I have been clean and sober for 30 years..just had a very middle class friend relapse and he tried to kill his wife...now arrested for domestic felony and strangulation....a man with much to lose financially and they are both 60...its awful...he just would not take the suggestions we make in AA...

.I am glad to be sober and "sober" and sane with food too...for me binging is just like drinking...and its consequences are just as deadly...maybe not for other people ...but for us for sure..and there is collateral damage to family with our food issues..kids get ignored, husbands and wives get denied in various ways...we hate ourselves fat...we cannot move ..we do not want to look in the mirror...Fatsecret and this community can help..

thanks to this website and this community for its help..been using Fatsecret now for 4 years and its really helped to manage and maintain longitudinal data..

Excerpt below from article by Dr. Dean Ornish...very famous cardiologist.. in today's New York Times...the Times is not exactly a bastion of bad science.....all you Atkins proponents might want to take a look and read the entire article ...link below ...many wealthy people now like Bill Clinton are vegan...there is a reason for that...they have access to the best medical care...like from docs like Dr. Ornish....my nephrologist, also a brilliant and wealthy MD is a vegan..at least consider reducing your meat intake....its a killer...promotes cardiovascular disease...

"The debate is not as simple as low-fat versus low-carb. Research shows that animal protein may significantly increase the risk of premature mortality from all causes, among them cardiovascular disease, cancer and Type 2 diabetes. Heavy consumption of saturated fat and trans fats may double the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease."
