As the mother of 4, my weight has gone up and down over the passed 8 years, always battling a bit after each pregnancy to loose the extra. Late last year my weight started going up, instead of down, only to find out that I have Hashimoto Disorder, where my body is attacking my Thyroid. The meds are great to control future weight gain, but do nothing for loosing the weight you already gained. This year I have made a decision to have the body, weight and fitness level that I want.

Just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism...
Hello. A year ago I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I gained 10kgs in 3 months. Started Eltroxin (in South Africa) and after 3 months did follow up blood tests. From these they determined that I am suffering from Hashimotos Thyroiditus, which is an autoimmune deficiency which causes your immune system to see your thyroid as foreign tissue and attack.
I started gyming and eating a high protein low carb diet and lost 10kgs in 3 months!!! I still have follow up blood tests every 3 months and medication adjusted accordingly, but it is going well.

You can not allow the diagnosis to dictate your standard of living.

I thought as a mother of 4 with Thyroid problems, it was fine that I was carrying the extra weight. I will never accept that for myself again!

Just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism...
I realise this feed is over a year old, but I could really use the support. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's earlier this year (autoimmune disease causing hypothyroidism).
I thought it was as easy as taking my pill every day, cause I had great results over first 3 month, now my hormone levels are up again. Dr thinks I will have to have blood work done every 3 months and medication altered every time as my dose will change depending on my thyroid function and inflamation.

I have been on a 12 week challenge and lost 10kg, which is great, but my staple diet consisted of raw broccoli every day for lunch. I now think this had something to do with the change in hormone levels.
