My journey started about 2 1/2 years ago... In September of 2008 I weighed 312 lbs. I had already had 2 back surgeries and the doctors said if I didnt lose weight I would be in a wheel chair by the age of 40. I refused to be in a wheel chair so I went to a bariatric surgeon and jumped through every hoop necessary for my insurance to cover the procedure. On February 5, 2009, I had a proximal RNY gastric bypass. It has been quite a journey... I gained all the confidence I had lost over the years and got rid of an abusive, neglectful, controlling husband in May of 2010. While working on myself and my happiness, I found that my best friend and I had feelings for each other we had not exposed before and now we are engaged! I have lost 132 pounds so far and want to get to 150 by December for our wedding!

had weight loss surgery worry about protein or calories?
I had a proximal rny gastric bypass 2 years ago... I have lost 130 lbs and have about 27 to get to my goal... Protein is difficult to get in at first. When did you have the surgery? Use your protein drink to get most of that protein... Isopure has zero sugar and 2 scoops is 50g of protein! It tastes good too. I can now get most of my protein from meats and natural proteins. I have been very lucky with my surgery and have had no side effects and have not thrown up since I had my surgery, in fact I cant. Not sure why... but its a good and bad thing. I average about 1200 to 1700 calories a day now and I am still losing, although it is slower. Good luck to you and I hope that helped.... D
