At the beginning of 2015 I had been under a boat load of stress and lost 5 pounds from not eating besides maybe once or twice a day. People started telling me I was looking smaller, but I knew it was from no good reason, so I buddied up with a friend and started working out and cut the simple things out of my diet; soda, juice, white crackers/bread, candy and sweets, and chips. I learned that it wasn't only about taking out things in my diet, but also adding things such as fruits, vegetables, and water! I was going to the gym everyday (Treadmill, stair stepper). In 3 months I had lost 15 pounds - not including the 5 I lost from stress.
My goal used to be "I want to be slim", but now that I'm slim I am working to gain muscle! I tell you this because when you hit your goal, just know you won't want to stop there. Seeing a difference makes you want even more out of it. DON'T STOP!
