Slender until my forties, at age fifty, I am now the heaviest I've ever been. Lost 75 lbs. about 7 years ago - it took over 13 months of heavy exercise (2-3 hrs. daily), and by keeping my diet <1200 calories and under 25 grams a fat per day to lose the weight. Consistancy and journaling was key in my success. However, slowly but surely, neglecting proper weight management, I've gained it all back, plus a few lbs. to boot.
I'm ready now to get serious about shedding these pounds. I'm following a low cal/fat diet & getting plenty of exercise. Drinking enough water is a challenge, and the disappointment of seeing the scales go UP, when I have been faithful, is always kinda depressing. The amount of time it will take to achieve my goal seems SO LONG, but I plan on setting some short term goals, in an attempt to circumvent discouragement.
