I am a descendant of numerous obese people, on both sides of the family. They have all struggled with being overweight, high cholesterol & diabetes.
When I graduated high I was 175 pounds with about 8% body fat (If I remember right). Six years later I jumped up to 250 +/- and finally went on the Weight Watchers Diet. I lost 40 lbs, looked & felt great! I actually started to feel good about myself. With the stress of changing jobs, moving and not being responsible, I gained the weight back.
The diet I have chosen this time around is the Atkins Diet. Currently writing this I am 8 days in and I feel wonderful! Now today (5/12/14) I am at 234lbs and weighed with a whopping 245 on day one! My goal’s to get back to 205 or so and maintain that weight for life. I realize gluten has hurt my health greatly. It is an evil, wonderful critter and I must keep it out of my life! Hopefully with persistence and a strong will, I will succeed.
