Timex HRM (T5G971) Accuracy of Calories Burned....
Oh, and anyone thinking about getting this watch? The calories burned is useless because the watch doesn't require your age and they don't publish the formula allowing you to adjust it to what ever calories estimator you want to use.

I haven't found any good information on this. I got my HRM yesterday, and used it at the gym today. According to the LifeFitness Tredmill, I burned 325 Kcal. According to the watch, I burned 561 Kcal. The Treadmill readout matches the estimates on the site +/-3%.

I wanted the HRM as much for heart monitoring as estimating calories burned for exercises that don't involved equipment.

[Update: Apparently, the watch uses some formula based on V02max but since that and my age cannot be changed, the results are wrong. So much for cost cutting and not getting the Polar]
