I am a 43 year old mother of 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren 8 years to 2 months. I was a smoker for 26 years, starting at age 12 and quiting at age 38. I never considered myself to have a weight problem or I was just too busy with family life and being in a crappy marriage to care. When I decided to quit smoking, mainly for my grandchildren, I decided to do it right and turn my whole life around. I had heard alot of folks gain weight when they quit. So, I started exercizing and figuring out how to eat right. I still ended up gaining 30+ pounds. I am back down to where I began with more muscle mass but I can't seem to loose the weight around my middle. I have hit my goal weight several times as well but can't seem to maintain it. My main obstacle is beer. I realize this adds alot of unneeded calories. But I enjoy tasting all the different varieties out there within the micro brews. My 2nd obstacle is finding the time to exercise. I work full time and split my free time between my boyfriend, and family. I did work out steadily for about 3 years when I was still married. I did Beach Bodies Hip Hop Abs, P90X 3 times and Chalene Extreme 2 times.
