I am a seventy year old man. On August 1, 2010 my husband and I began seriously working out at our local Gold's Gym. We have been showing up at 5:15 a.m. 3 to 4 times a week since then. I do weight training (with a trainer twice a week) for about an hour and at least 30 minutes of cardio activity. I wanted to get to 200 pounds or less...I still do. I did weight watchers for a couple of months, but did not like it. I refused to count calories. Our one year anniversay of going to the gym is coming up SOON. I am determined to get to 200 or less by then...I have put this off for years...thinking "next week...tomorrow...etc." I think I have all the time in the world, while friends and family are literally dying. I know that I have blocks to my achieveing this goal...I no longer care to waste any precious time dealing with them! I MUST count the calories, I know this. I found FatSecret on my iPad: I think that it is terrific. I think tht it will be the tool to help motivate me to achieve my physical fitness goals. This 8 week challenge and the rest of you fellow participants out there in the "cloud" are an added incentive. Let's do this!
