Anyone here get heartburn regularly?
Stress is your trigger, when you get stressed out your brain sends signals of fight or flight. Stress will make your heartburn worse, stomach acid rises with the stress hormone, its a vicious circle.
Take some time out and relax. Try this simple yet effective way to get rid of stress, no medication or special equipment needed.
1. Get a wooden pencil
2. Open your mouth, place your pencil between your front and lower teeth, DON'T bite down, hold it gently between your teeth until you feel your jaw relax. The amount of time it takes for this is up to each person.
You will know if you are biting down instead of being relaxed since you will see teeth marks on the pencil.
3. when the session is over, have a glass of 1% or skim milk, the lactose in the milk relaxes the esophagus which helps with your GERD.
Do these simple tricks every night for a while, until your GERD doesn't bother you anymore.
