Ok, finally found the area where I can write my bio.
#1 We have a history of diabetes in our family, so I want to try and avoid getting this disease and hopefully avert any other problems brought on by excessive weight.
I have been dieting off and on since I was at least 18 yrs old( you know the I want to lose 5-10 # deal now and then). I would gain a couple pounds in college and then want to lose them and so on and on.
I got up to 160 when I had my son 25 yrs ago and of course had to diet to get the extra pounds off. Well I went to physicians weight loss clinic and got down to 125#. That was the last time to me I looked really good. It wasn't a healthy way to lose and and I think it was the worst thing I did to my body. It killed my metabolism so I gained all my weight back plus more within 6 years.
When I got preganat for my daughtrer I only gained 15 # but I was already at 150 so that put me at 165 or so when I had her so afterwards I was probably around 160.
I go long periods where I maintain my weight but in the past 20 years my weight has slowly climbed at a rate of 2-5# per year. ( Not noticeable in the year but after 20 years you see it and feel it.)
Around 2 years ago I reached 190 and ever since then I haven't been succesfull at losing my weight. I would gain then lose and then try a new diet and then another diet etc... etc... ENOUGH!!!
SOOO... now I have to get off the roller coaster and finally get down to my goal weight in a healthy way and keep it there. I want to feel good again and be able to do activities that I love like riding horses and water sports. Water sports are hard when you have a lot of extra weight to carry. It's a chore to get that wet suit on believe me. I am looking forward to the journey.
