protein shakes
Brian, For the bodybuilder trying to hold onto muscle that sounds like
a great,"before bedtime" (or meal replacement)shake! All of the above has been in my shakes, but I don't know at the same time.
Try this,
put in a 1/2 cup of frozen, chopped spinach. Green shake, you don't even know its there and you get that "green power"! Also, drop the milk and use 1/2C liquid egg whites, pure protein with out the lactose. My blender is a years old Osterizer with just the high low switch...family hates the racket but it keeps on chugging!CD

Agreed, I utilize rice and stevia as well. The "works best" is the key
statement here. Some whey, by the scoop gives me terrible gas. The
same whey by the tablespoon is fine. Find what works for you and if you don't like the shake for some reason, you may be able to reduce the quantity and continue use.
With all these shakes, why are we drinking them? My reason is
it is that easy snack, low in calories that helps me hold onto muscle.

I think all of these are whey too much $(pun intended) and lacking real
food values. You can buy large quantities of pure whey isolates, place in zip lock bags in the freezer and use by the tablespoon for months on end. Utilize, spinach, fruit, egg white, 2 tbls whey and you can make a great inexpensive shakes. Don't forget pea protein & hemp but some do not like the tastes. Good mixers are water and almond milk.
