I am a Father of four, hold a full time day job, run a full time dj business and still manage to stay healthy.
In my opinion, there are no excuses.

Has Anyone Else Had Trouble Losing Weight Even Though They Are Sticking To Their Diet?
When you're on the same diet and exercise routine for any more then 6 weeks, the body becomes very comfortable with what you're doing and will come to a stand still. This is why we dont lose weight simply by walking around during the day. Our body is use to that.
I have always encouraged people to have 1 (and only 1) cheat day per week. This serves two very important purposes.
1) it keeps you from picking and poking and snacking through the week. When you have a craving for something that you shouldn't eat, it's amazing what you'll eat to try to curve that craving. Quite often, by the time you're done trying to curve the craving, you've eaten more calories then you would have if you just "ate the pizza." By picking a cheat day, it gives you something to look forward to and the little snacking through the week (that does add up) is much easier to walk away from.
2) It sends your metabolism in to overdrive! You've maintained 1200 calories all week, your body is getting comfortable with that so your metabolism slows down. You stuff yourself with 2000-2500 calories and all of a sudden, your metabolism says "Woe! I've gotta get to work." It will continue to burn at a higher rate even for the next couple of days once you've gone back to your dieting.
Hope this helps.
