Well, today is a different day: I might actually be able to move this scale reading, slowly but surely, down, notch by notch. Time to grow up and acknowledge the fact that gone are the halcyon days when I could just whittle-down a day's intake and shed the 2 lbs. I choose. It's going to be difficult and require commitment from now on.

I am a Fallen Woman. Thanksgiving itself wasn't as bad as subsequent days on which I started drinking wine too early in the evening or came home from work too hungry to wait for a modest dinner. In both cases, I lost my head and will-power and overate. The solution would seem to be a combination of serious determination to shed weight and eat less/better plus making it easier to succeed at this resolve by breaking my total daily caloric intake up into small packets that I can eat throughout the day.

Didn't do badly during the day - kept the eating to a minimum and was active cleaning cages, etc. - but lost it totally by evening. I was ravenous and with multiple draughts of red wine my appetite was eventually unleashed and I went from numerous slices of goat gouda to a large bowl of pork and green sauce over pinto beans and brown rice, followed by a bowl of vanilla ice cream with amaretto. No counting all THOSE calories, so I didn't.

According to the exercise calculator, I only used 1700 but ingested slightly over 2000 calories yesterday. No wonder I seem to keep slowly gaining weight even when I'm not eating as much as I used to.
