Eating under recommended calorie intake
My advice would be keep your doctor updated on your calorie intake. They'll be able to tell if there's anything going wrong. If the doc is okay with it, then no harm no foul.

If I were thin, I'd...
be the same amazing beautiful person I am right now, but healthier.
I think its great to set goals and look at the future, but I agree 100% with K8YK. Being thin or fat, I am still exactly who I am. If I'm not happy now, if I'm not going out and doing what I want now, I don't believe being thiner is going to change that. I believe one thing about loosing weight and changing my lifestyle: It will give me better health.
Please understand I'm not being critical. Its just how I feel about my journey to a healthier me.

weight goes up and down
As I understand it, your weight can flux even in a single day by as much as 5 pounds. Water weight is a big part of this, especially for women, and especially near THAT time of the month. I was advised by my health coach not to weigh myself daily but weekly. Always on the same day of the week, at the same time of the day. She says the results will be more accurate to what I'm really weighing.

Do u have to have a trainer?
As much as I'd love a trainer (and as much as my Gym pushed me to sign up for one, more money for them) I can't afford one. But I AM a librarian. So I did the best thing I could- started to get information. I read many books on the subject (often while walking on the treadmill lol) and read a lot of websites (stuck with the reputible ones, government sponsored, university sponsored, Etc.)
I've overhauled how I eat (keeping track here is SO awesome too, helps a lot) I'm tracking what I do everyday. And I am loosing weight and feeling better, no trainer needed.
I agree that for some folks a trainer is great, but you don't have to break the bank to afford one to suceed.
Also, if you have health insurance, see if they have a health coach program. A lot do now. Thats where a qualified dietician/trainer will call you once a month, check on your progress, answer questions and give advice on your weight loss, and its all covered under your insurance. Mine's been a huge help, and I get to talk to her for 12 calls on the plan, without spending a dime.
