a serving size is also half a cup of pasta. I believe that if you weigh it it does in fact come to 6 oz. So if you don't want to buy a scale use your measuring cup. But a scale is really the better option.

PMS'n hard and craving Chocolate!!!
Milk chocolate is the bad chocolate that you want to stay away from. Just like k8yk stated dark chocolate is the best choice with the health benefits attached to it and it will curb your craving.

Cultural differences and ideal body weight.
I have something similiar to you.

In high school my weight shifted with the season, but I was relatively thin. Just gaining 10-15 lbs and quickly losing it. When I met my husband I was a size 0 ( I guess I should mention that I'm only 5' tall) so I weighed about 87 lbs. When he took me to meet his family (he is Tongan/Polynesians/Pacific Islander) his family didn't approve of me because they thought that I was way too thin for him. His mother pulled him aside and told him that he couldn't get serious or think about marrying me because I must be sick because of how thin I was. Their culture determines a man's wealth by the size of his wife's waist. And if I was starting out too thin there was no way for him to ever get me to show just how well off we are. Anyhow, many years later and body changes do to pregnancies and health related issues (not weight related) my waist line has grown drastically. Before his mother passed away she was so pleased by how big I was because it meant that her son was doing well: afterall, how can he have a 'fat' wife if he isn't bringing home the bacon. Now I am on this journey to lose the weight and get down to 130 lbs from 259. I have quite a way to go but I will succeed and my husband agrees with me it's more expensive to be thin than it is to be fat!
