Just a quick note about me. Single woman age 58 and I love to cook! Like many people, our family was immersed in cooking large dinners and cooking for large groups of people. My Uncles always managed the church dinners. My sister is a chef and I went to culinary college after spending years as an event planner. I operated a catering business and a banquet facility before 2008. Now, I am a consultant for 3 restaurants (one BBQ, one Fine Dining Italian, and one Pub) plus book events for at least 3-4 trucks. Can you imagine being around smoked brisket! Yummy. I have fun visiting the restaurant twice a month taking my vinegar and avocado oil to top my spring greens and fresh smoked pulled pork salad! Keto for real!

I'm here to finally lose the weight I've gained since 2008. I tried ketosis before but with Medifast. I love their shakes but the powdered food - I know its changed - but I never understood the science of ketosis or how to do it on my own. I will be successful now once and for all and I'm looking forward to reaching my first goal before my 59th birthday! I'm so new at this any help you can offer is great!

Damien Escobar! Oh Yeah....
So excited today! Going to hear a fantastic violist at the Soundstage in Baltimore! At first I thought I would just enjoy a snack during the show - they have salads and I could take my salad dressing of avocado oil and vinegar with me. Have them toss on some meat, cucumbers, etc. and still eat clean. But the truth is, the show starts at 8 pm..and the deadline of my eating day. I I.F. from 8 pm until noon the next day. Drats! So when I woke up this morning I realized I need to change my eating day..be done before I leave for the show at 6 pm today. And, goodness take some tea bags, some stevia and sip on hot tea at the show. Ok.. ok.. that's my plan..and in my mind.. right now..I'm sticking to it! Keep your fingers crossed for me today!

Weird Food Images in my head....
So, as someone who has spent years in the food industry and who STILL talks about food on a daily basis, you would think eliminating carbs would be problem. Actually, I've found ways to stay on my goal. I'm not craving the food I'm surrounded by at all. But what is happening though, I have images of food in my head at the same time no desire to eat them. It's like someone is using flash cards!

This morning I woke with pictures of RAPA SCRAPPLE in my head! I even looked up the nutritional label because I figured I was craving it?? (I think scrapple is a Delaware, Maryland and Virginia thing). Yet, at this moment (1:13 pm east coast), I haven't had my first meal and frankly, I'm not hungry. I ate last night at about 8 pm.

I'm beginning to realize.. my food fight isn't about actual body cravings but my mind wanting to eat cause it just wants to chew and smell food. It misses the "experience" of eating food.." Weird.....

I'm curious about the macros the ladies are following for LCHF. I'm new at this..only about 1 1/2 months and there is so much info about macros and what one should follow. Right now, at my weight 237 my goal is 170 (first goal). So, I'm doing in grams 20-25 carb, I shoot for sugar free but I will eat something under 5 grams sugar, protein is 75-77 grams and fat is 120 grams. I intermit fast 16:8 - eating between noon and 8 pm. My calories are running 1400 but I'm not watching except I don't want to do over 1700.
