My name is Ashley. I've struggled with my weight since my late teens. I've had a rollercoaster weight history. I'm great at losing when I put my mind to it, and I'm great at gaining. I've never managed to maintain.

My ultimate goal is to be between 120 and 125 and I need to focus on healthy eating and physical activity. The journey is taking longer than I would've liked, but I'm making progress!

Working out on a low carb diet
So I did try and go running the night after I posted this, and I was able to run 2 miles. The last time I ran was 9 weeks before that, so I'm feeling like I'm not as exhausted as I think I am. I just need to get in the groove still, and find foods I actually enjoy.

Thank you everyone for the advice!

Working out on a low carb diet
Thanks Donnmur! I haven't tried working out yet (I'm on my fourth week), but maybe I'm still in the adjustment period. I have a hard time making myself wake up in the morning because I'm so tired. I'm gonna start my running or zumba back up next week, I just don't want to feel like crap after working out!

Working out on a low carb diet
I'm more concerned about working out on lo carbs. I've heard from a lot of people that their workouts were terrible when they were cutting back on carbs. This is my 4th week of low carb, and it's been a little over 2 months since zumba and running.

I'm looking for suggestions on intensity, or maybe certain foods to eat before / after the workout so the low carb doesn't kill my energy.

Should you weigh yourself when you are going to the gym 3 times a week
I also suggest taking pictures every time you measure!! From the front, both sides, and the back. Put on a bathing suit, or a bra and underwear (just wear the exact same thing every time). Sometimes we don't notice how our body changes when we see it every day, but the pictures will put it into better perspective!
