Hi, I am a recent graduate of Wayne State's Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program. For the last three years have spent a lot of time on computer and working mid-nights taking care of family and not much time eating right and exercising hence weight gain of about 15 pounds. I am interested in cycling and yoga and I love spending time outside can't wait for spring. I have two teenage kids and a hubby who is quite supportive. I have to be serious and do this for myself. I want to feel healthy again. I also love to cook and enjoy a nice glass of red wine. I look forward to my new position and challenges in this new year.

An update: 3 YEARS LATER, Weight loss still difficult making new commitment to myself to really focus on my health. I have switched jobs and now am working out a few days a week and eating mostly low carbs. So far better than before! I have been more consistent!
Another update: After first hip replacement in Nov 2017 going for second one May 2018. Starting to get back to me! Cycling 1 day a week for a 1 hour cycle class and doing mixed pilates and yoga.... well trying anyways. Cycling is hard but very rewarding every Tuesday 20 miles usually. I am trying to start really watching carbs and making this a great effort and no alcohol it always messes with my wins! I am now 51 years young! and perimenapause can kiss my shillelagh!

Need ideas for more PROTEIN please!
How about kefir or add canolini beans or great northern beans to a smoothie. It adds creaminess with a neutral flavor and fiber. I tried it this a.m. it tasted good. I used chocolate almond milk 1/2 cup beans and 1 cup frozen cherries.
