i cannot get motivated
Hi its hard breaking habits and making new ones! I bought a pedometer - I have had a few different inexpensive ones which broke so ended up buying a more expensive one which is great so far! Try and remember to put it on the minute you get up. One piece of advice is just to wear it for a few days or a week to find out the number of steps you do ordinarily, then try increase it by 3000 steps a day for a week and then up it again till 10,000 steps is the minimum per day you do. Another suggestion, how about you dress ready for your walk before you take the kids to the bus,and once they're on the bus you don't go home but carry on walking, once or twice round the block to start and build up? If you live in a house with stairs, like I do, try go up and down the stairs a lot (I used to wait until I had a dozen things that needed to be taken upstairs but now I go each time I see something). Could you find an exercise buddy or walking group near you? Or (if you don't mind dogs!) is there a dog walking charity near you? We have a charity in the UK that matches dogs who's owners have become infirm with people willing and with the time to walk the dog so they don't have to go for rehoming)? Good luck.
