My first wife died in an accident in 2006 and I have remarried and have 5 wonderful children ages 4-10 that keep me so busy, but I won't let that get in my way to achieve my goals.

I have always been a bit on the heavy side. Probably somewhere around 25-30% bodyfat. I really let myself go and hit 253 in December of 2008. I decided it was time to really get in shape so I decided I was going to start bodybuilding with the hopes of competing someday. I stumbled upon the spike diet while visiting bodybuilding.com and have never looked back. A year and a half later May/2010 I am still at it. I have made great progress, read everything in sight trying to learn, and I will not give up until I reach my goal. I am down 47lbs and have about 20 more to go.

Eating more meals a day does not increase metabolism
I think you will find if you up your protein intake it will help with hypoglycemia, energy, and eating less.

How long have you been doing this? Do you weigh your food? How much do you jog?

Resting/sleeping burns Calories?
Actually a large percentage of your daily calories are burned during sleep. This is when most of your bodies repairs are being done.

Ok - I weighed myself today and I have gained .6 pounds this week. I had done really well at watching what I ate, drinking water and exercising. I did start a new exercise program - The Biggest Loser Cardio Max and about killed myself the first time on it (still sore today from working out Sunday). Oh well, I will keep at it and hopefully next week I will lose. Sorry for complaining.

Also, exercising harder than you are used to causes release of cortisol. Relax, its just waterWink
