Hello everyone,

I am a mother of two wonderful boys. One who was diagnosed with a mild form of autism a few years back, so I put a lot of things in my life on hold and devoted myself to raising and making him into the fine young man he is becoming today. Looking back now I wish I would have taken better care of my own health and appearance. At first, I could only see the here and now and now I see the overall picture of needing to be healthy and fit so I can be around for my children for many years to come. I know a big part of losing weight is doing it for myself as well. So, between work and home life I plan to finally find time to do me!! My year for big changes Doing Me in 2014!!

Sounds like a winner plan to me. I am also watching processed food. I find I love raw vegetable over the cooked ones, but I will eat them all. I did have a hotdog tonight so that wasn't good but no bun so I kept the carbs off the plate. I just realized I may be eating too much fat in my diet. I know in the Atkins book it is okay to have fat but I think I would actually do better on more lean meats such as chicken and fish. I joined the water challenges up here today. My goal is to get to the point where I want water over diet dr.pepper. I usually allow myself one drink a day, but today I did two glasses of the stuff. My willpower has usually been strong when comes to the soft drinks. I'm on day 10. Baking a chicken tomorrow so I can nibble throughout the day while I clean and write my final term papers. The weather is suppose to be bad so it will not be so bad being in the house all day. Sounds like such a wonderful Saturday for me.LOL. Let's keep it up abjarrett!!! My mini goal is too lose as much weight as I can in 90 days. After that 90 more days Smile.

Yes, you will do it!! I know it's not going to be easy but anything worth having never is. So, with that said I look forward to getting to know everyone around here and working together to knock these pounds off. We are going to do this Smile.

Hi everyone,

I am new and need to lose 170 pounds. Yep, that is whole lot of weight.Sad I believe I can do this. No, I know I can do this but I'm going to need a (few) buddies to keep me hyped up and motivated. Yes, I said a few Smile . Hey, I need all the help I can get it Smile . I've been down this road before and seems like as soon as I start seeing great progress I just quit. I don't want to do that, no, I can't afford to do that anymore. I'm in my 40's now and I expect the weight to take a lot longer to come off. Oh well, just as long as it come off. Smile Hope to become buddies with some of you all and share this journey together.
