Yes... I have Diabetes

Well I am on 2000mg Metformin a day and even going to bed with BG at 110, I wake up in the 180's so my Dr suggested I try Byetta, not only will it help with my morning BG it will also help me lose weight. I have spend 3 weeks trying to get my Insurance to approve it and went though a crazy pre auth issue but have finaaly been approved for 1 yrs at the somewhat affordable co pay of $50 a month instead of the $368 it would be without insurance.
Thing is I've never known anyone to take this and was just curious if any of you have and if so what did you think about it? I know there is some side effects and some people have had major issues with it, but I dont see my Dr giving it to me if it was a huge risk, so I pick it up tomorrow and start a new chapter in this oh so fun challenge of Diabetes.....but in all seriousness I would love someones opionion of it....Thanks!!!

Shellie - I have not taken it but thought you might want to see the description on Jenny Ruhl's blog http://bloodsugar101.com/. It is under the "Drugs" tab. Seems it works for some and can make you feel full - that sounds nice. You might enjoy her site, I learned a alot using her How to test method (on the home page).
