For those of us who work at home, the fall weather can be depressing. Honestly, I have a hard time facing the 'locked in' feeling. I can't ride a bike, or just escape to the deck for a few hours.

I'm looking for ways to brighten up my 'office' and keep my spirits high.

The best way for me to fight the "boxed in" feeling is to break out and do something. Many times I will go to Target just to kill some time and think about something other than work. I starting a Couch to 5k fitness program this week and hope it will take up more of my "getting out" time. It should help me to be more fit and keep my dollars in my pocket!

I will use the free wifi at Panera, Starbucks or Borders and work there to get out of the house and not feel so closed in. Even if I don't talk to anyone, the feeling of being surrounded by people and activity helps relieve the boredom of being stuck in my house.

I have started to go to the local coffee shop. It helps me stay motivated - but then I am tempted by bagels and coffee. I don't like feeling shut in, but watching the people helps me, same a syou chayleah.

I use to have a very small office that was only 2 blocks from home. I miss it and may go back to an 'out of the house' office. I was much more productive - and healthier.

Its funny, many people I talk to think I'm crazy because I don't LOVE working from home. Yes, some days I love it, when it is really hot out or really cold out or pouring down rain, I love not having to leave home. But, day to day, I really miss going to the office. I miss getting dressed up. I miss stopping for coffee. I miss the interaction, even with strangers, just saying hello to people. Yes, my laundry is more caught up than it has ever been, but I would happily trade it to have my office back.
Ever shrinking!
