My name is Cyrillia, I'm 25 years old, (a month away from 26), and am 262 pounds. I started this group in the hopes that I gather together others who have as lofty weight loss goals as I. Smile

Even though ideally I'd like to lose more than the 100, I'm starting there, using it as a nice round, (like me) number.

My philosophy is that every pound lost is a worth a celebration, even if it's just a pat on the back.

I'm the type of person who needs to stay motivated and am hoping that as a group, we can keep each other motivated and accountable.

With enough determination I can do this, you can do this! I look forward to being healthy and making friends along the way.

Hey I am Sima and I am in Gainesville (Northern Virginia, USA)

I weighed in at 260.5 this morning so I have about the same distance to travel as you do! I set my goal down to 150 but I ma using the challenges and my own mini goals in 10lb increments to keep me focused on the little seps. (using every 10s place a as barrier or hurdle to get past such as staying below 260 being the first) I am excited because for one thing this is the first time I have EVER been this diligent about recording what I eat and I am finding I respond well to online communities and support so long as I don't spend ALL of my time in front of a computer screen!

Oh I am 33

You and I have almost the same exact road to travel! How exciting. I'm hoping that by starting this group we can become a very tight knit community that is full of encouragement.

I see from you're tracker that you've already lost!! That's awesome! I'm so glad to have you in the group! Let's work together to get rid of this 100lb monkey on our backs!

ALSO POSTED ON "NEW TO THE CLUB"

Hello All....

I am Denice. Married with 2 wonderful kids (girl 17 and boy 11). We have been married 20 yrs, since I was 16 yrs old. I have always been on the heavy side.
Three years ago my husband had a horrible accident at work. He has rescently gone back to work. With all the stress I gained soooooo much weight. I even tried Weight Watchers while trying to be the bread winner and help hubby with all his recovery. Dang cortisol really got me (tummy fat). I look and feel horrible.

I also suffer from cronic depression, bipolar and panic disorder. I know half of this is due to low self esteem and self worth.

I am having a really hard time exersizing. I have been trying to walk 5-10 a day on my tredmill. To be completely honest I have only been able to get myself on the tredmill like twice a week. It hurts my lower back after 5 minutes or so. I am sure that is part of my lack of motivation. If something hurts we don't want to do it again.

Is anyone else struggling like this?

I would love to find someone that is also struggling like me to work with, either online or in person. To challenge eachother to walk our 10 minutes each day. To have eachother to help one another to keep accountable with.

Well I have rambled on enough.

Nice to meet you all. See you around often I hope.
Hugs, Denice

My name is Cherie and I am from Geneva, AL. The middle of nowhere! LOL I am 35 years old and I have three children that I love with all my heart. I have recently lost my home and my husband of 13 years (see bio for explination) and I am hoping to have a positive loss in my life called weight loss.

I have struggeled with the concept of weight my whole life. I started dieting in middle school because I was bigger then my friends. I really wasn't big I just wasn't a size 0. This has shaped how I view food, weight and my self. Over the years I have become the fat person I thought I was. I am currently 315.4 started on the 25th of Aug at even 327. My goal weight is 165. That is 162 lbs to lose.

Anyway I am looking for a network of friends that understand what I am going through and what challenges I have to face every day.Cool

Hi! I'm Anya and I'm 24. Single mom to a toddler. You'd think that would be enough exercise to keep me healthy, but sadly, it isn't. I'm from Huntsville, AL, USA. I workout 5 days a week, for at least 20 minutes of high energy cardio, and walk 1-1.5 miles 3 times a week. I'm also a full time student in her last year of school (temporarily..have to work towards becoming R.H.I.A certified..), so that keeps me on my bum way too much.

I've been a chunk of a girl since I was about 10, so over the years, it's easy to see that I've packed it on, like a mule. Time to get rid of the mush, and get a better tush!

I currently weigh 272.75, and my goal weight is 180. And for my height being 5'10, that'd be a decent weight to start from. But as of right now, my mini-goal is to get to 269.. To get below this STUPID 270 mark. It's been a little frustrating, but I WILL get there!

Hello Everyone! I'm 25 years old (one month away from 26, like you Cy). I have been heavy as far as I can remember. Although I was in the 250-280 range in high school, I managed to play basketball and co-captain my track team. Well, As soon as I finished and was off to college, I lost a little weight my freshman year (because of all the walking on a huge campus). That all changed toward the end of my sophomore year when I was able to convince my parents to give me a car (no more walking!) and the pounds packed on...by the time I graduated, I was a whopping 345! I was wondering "how the heck I got up there?!?" I was very depressed and considering a gastric bypass (like my mother). It made it even worse when I believed I was being discriminated against because of my weight at job interviews. When I finally did get a job, a few months later, I hired a trainer and I got down to 315 and I stayed there for about two years until I was laid off this past March. Up came the pounds to about 340...I said "no way" to that and changed the way I ate and started to walk just down the block from my apartment and got down to 335...that's when I started writing down everything and finished reading YOU: On a Diet. I want to get down to 150 (my ultimate goal) but my mini-goal is to get out of the 300's by my 26th birthday in October. I know I can do it...especially with support. I'm so happy I found a group like this...let's make it happen people!!!

Hi everyone -

My name is Traci and I live in a suburb of St. Louis, MO. I'm 33 (34 this month) and have been heavy all my life. My heaviest weight was 344 in April of this year. I was having extreme knee pain (due to weight) and had to make some tough choices. Lose the weight or jeopardize my mobility.

I have approx 200 pounds to lose, but I'm not focused on the final number right now. I'm doing this 40 pounds at a time. I reached my first goal of being below 300lbs on August 29. Now I'm working to get below 260.

We have such a long journey…it’s great to have people to share it with.

Okay, I already added a little bit to the "New to Group" Posts....but here's my info again:

I'm Jade, I'll be 29 later this month and currently weigh 255 (as of yesterday morning). My ultimate goal is 145 (though with my 5'2" build, that still won't put me at a "0" or anything -- not something I, personally, want). Therefore, I have a total of 110 to go before I'm there.

I can say that I relate VERY well to most of your posts - and have a similar story myself.

My concern with weight and my looks began early on - probably in the pre-teen years. I've always been "hefty" but never really FAT - not until I was 19. But that didn't stop me from viewing myself that way!! When you're the 'tom-boy' and more muscular than all of your female friends - they're in size 1 or 0 and you're in a size 8, you feel fat. OH MY GOD - what I wouldn't give to wear an 8 again!!!! (Heck, I'd even settle for a 14 right about now - lol.)

So now I look back at those pictures and wish I treated myself better. I look in the mirror and feel the same way (and worse) than I did in high school and I'm tired of it! When you have over a decade of putting yourself down, it's hard to break though - so I post as many inspirational sayings around the house as possible - anything to make me remember how others view me and to hopefully force myself to see me that way too.

I have a wonderful husband - we've been together for 10 years (married 8 ). As a friend of mine says to her husband "The vows said through thick and thin. You had me when I was thin, this is the thick." That's kinda how it is with my marriage, I was 145 when we got together and he's seen me basically gain another person. I'm determined to give him the sexy woman he fell in love with! Now, please understand, that he's beyond happy with me 'as is', I just want to do it - I want to feel better about ME - I know I just can't do that at this current weight!

He's in the Army and currently on his third tour in Iraq. So I have until September of 2009 (when he's coming home) to lose as much weight as possible. I'm making this deployment about spending time on me - getting everything better situated with me!

We have a 7 year old son, and a 9 month old daughter - as well as a 3 year old Beagle. Life's hectic around here on a daily basis - with me being a "single" mom and everything else -- so I'll try to update this daily, but it may turn into every other day once things start getting really busy.

Thank you to all of you - #1 for reading my book of a post. LOL. And #2 for being there for me and all of us - for supporting us and helping us through this journey!!

By the way, I'm in Fort Hood, Texas -- that's about an hour northeast of Austin.
