I never bought the South Beach Diet book but looked up allowed foods online. It said that non-fat greek yogurt was OK and I believe that Agave Syrup is OK. Is that true?

Non-fat Greek Yogurt is ok but I haven't found where Agave syrup is allowed. I don't think so but If I find it allowed some where on SB, I'll let you know. Wish you success!!

I don't mind the taste of Greek yogurt but since I'm in Phase 2, I tried adding some fresh blueberries and boy was that a treat! Really did sweeten it up a bit. I put stevia in my tea sometimes so I you could probably try that in your yogurt and maybe a dash if cinnamon if you like it to kick it up a notch.

I use greek yogurt for cooking. A great mini-muffin recepie is: 1 egg, 1/4 almond meal, 1T stevia, 1/4 cup softened peanut butter (soften in microwave), 1/8 c greek yogurt, 1/2 t vanilla, 1/2 t baking soda. Mix and bake at 350 for 10-12 min. It makes 9 mini muffins- 67 calories, 5.4g of fat, 2.3g carbs and 3.2g of protein. One muffin doesn't get the carb craving going and is a great treat!

In Phase 1(just started today), it has to be NonFat PLAIN yogurt correct? I don't like any plain yogurt, so I guess I'll be avoid it till phase 2.

Try putting one of the fruity flavored Crystal Light's in it- makes it taste just like a regular yogurt!! Smile

I have been adding the sugar free/fat free chocolate pudding powder in it. Not too bad. When I was on WW and they allowed only plain with fruit added I added that and the fruit, so I'm missing my fruit. Lost 2.8 my first week, so not too bad. I'm hypothryoid so that's a great week for me!
